As of Dec. 31, 2020, the European Union Ship Recycling Regulations (EU SRR) states that any ship of 500 GT or greater flying a flag of a European Union or European Economic Area (EU/EEA) member state, or third-party ships visiting EU/EEA ports and anchorages, must have a valid and certified Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM) on board. The EU SRR follows previous legislation, the Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships, 2009 (SR/CONF/45) (HKC). Both the EU SRR and the HKC require the creation of an IHM, which consists of the ship’s details and the actual inventory of the hazardous and potentially hazardous materials on board.
ALL-TECH is proud to offer IHM services to our clients. Typically, these IHMs involve background research into the vessel or vessels, thorough onboard sampling, result analysis, and IHM report preparation. The Hazardous Materials surveyed can include:
Our IHM reports are written in the manner accepted by the MEPC 269(68) and MEPC.222(64) guidelines, in addition to being crafted to DNV-GL standards.
