As we enter the second year of the Sars-CoV-2 Pandemic there has been increased interest in respiratory protection.  This is increasingly true with the general population who may have little to no experience with respiratory protection but are now increasingly being mandated to wear non-medical facial coverings, N95’s, R99’s or face-shields.

Historically, the basis of Respiratory Protection training has been focused on industrial, construction, abatement or other hazardous industries where respiratory protection has been employed for many decades and there is historically a wealth of understanding regarding key principles and well as uses and limitations of the various devices among the workforce.

Due to the increase in the average person’s interest in this topic ALL-TECH has developed a Simplified Plain Language Respiratory Protection overview geared towards the average individual.

Topics Include:

  • Difference between occupational usage & voluntary usage of respiratory protective equipment.
  • Applicable guidance and reference documents.
  • Overview of respiratory protection & principles of operation – What is and is not a respirator?
  • Different styles of respiratory protection – Filtering Face-Pieces, Elastomeric Respirators, Surgical Masks, Non-Medical Face coverings & Face shields.
  • Uses and limitations of various styles of respirators.
  • Effectiveness of various styles of non-medial face coverings.
  • Effectiveness of various respiratory protective equipment in relation to the Sars-CoV-2 virus.
  • Mask Mandates – Minimum requirements vs Recommendations.
  • Mask myths debunked – Overview of common falsies & misinformation regarding non-medical mask usage.
  • How to properly put on and take off disposable masks (i.e., N95’s) correctly.
  • How to properly put on, take off and clean reusable non-medical facial coverings.

Upon completion of this course each attendee will receive a certificate of completion.
