1 Day Asbestos Awareness (#26192)

Presented in live webinar format.  Participants will be able to ask questions live through chat format or by using their computer’s microphone. This will be a web-based solution and will not require any software or online registrations of any kind. Details on how to access this course on the scheduled date will be emailed to participants prior to the course’s commencement.

This course is designed for anyone involved with, working around or having the potential to be exposed to asbestos containing materials.

Who should participate?

The course is designed for, but not limited to, the following personnel:
building owners, operators, architects, engineers, designers, asbestos removal contractors, maintenance staff, trade workers (plumbers, HVAC, electrical), health and safety representatives, consultants, estimators and specification writers.

  History of Asbestos and Its Uses (The Asbestos Family, Six Different Types of Asbestos, Common Uses)
• 
  Health Effects Associated with Asbestos Exposure (Introduction, Asbestos and Smoking, Asbestos Points of Entry, Respiratory Pathway, Asbestosis, Lung Cancer, Mesothelioma)
• Personal Protection (Introduction, Training Programs, Safe Working Practices, Air Purifying
  Respirators, Air Line Respirators, Self Contained Breathing Apparatus,
  Protection Factor (PF), Quantitative Fit Testing, Qualitative Fit Tests,
  Irritant Smoke Test, Odor Vapor Fit Test, Taste Fit Test, Respirator Programs)
• Industry Asbestos Regulations
• Industry Standard Asbestos Removal Procedures

Upon completion of this course each attendee will receive a certificate of completion.
