Asbestos Awareness (1 Day)

1-Day Asbestos Awareness - This course is designed for anyone involved with, working around or having the potential to be exposed to asbestos containing materials.

Asbestos Abatement (3 Days)

This course is intended for the attendees to gain further knowledge and experience in all aspects of asbestos abatement including: asbestos management, removal techniques and procedures, health effects and exposure, government regulations and guidelines, personal protection and material product identification.

Confined Space Awareness (1 Day)

Regulations and standards, definitions how to identify confined spaces, hazard identification, air testing, safety equipment used in confined spaces, control measures, pre-entry procedures, permits, emergency procedures, confined space programs and procedures. Detailed course overview

Crystalline Silica Awareness (1/2 Day)

This course is designed for anyone involved with working around or having the potential to be exposed to silica containing materials.

Fall Protection Training (Newfoundland – WHSCC Certified) (2 Days)

Anyone who uses fall protection equipment in Newfoundland and Labrador are required to complete a fall protection training course approved by the Workplace Health Safety & Compensation Commission (WHSCC). Knowing how to properly use fall protection equipment is critical for the safety of workers.

Fall protection certification training has an expiry date of three (3) years, at which time the course must be completed again for renewal certification.

Fall Protection Training (1 Day)

This course is designed to assist participants with knowing when and how to properly wear fall protection equipment.

Fume Hood Safety

This awareness-training course is designed for laboratory personnel who use fume hoods on a regular basis.

Hazardous Material Awareness

Learn about asbestos containing materials in buildings, mould awareness and how moisture affects mould growth, lead containing materials in buildings, mercury and PCBS in buildings, radon.

Infection Control Awareness Course

This course is designed for all health care facility “constructors” (i.e. health care facility staff, contractors, designers, etc.)

Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee (JOHSC) Member Training

This course will provide participants with an understanding of what JOHSC is and the roles and responsibilities of the committee. Participants will learn the functions and the requirements of the committee under the Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Lead Awareness

This course is designed for anyone involved with, working around or having the potential to be exposed to lead.

Lockout / Tagout Awareness Training

This course is designed to inform affected and authorized employees of the procedures to be used in the lockout/tagout process to ensure safety and protection during repair and maintenance of equipment. Employees will receive instructions on proper lockout/tagout procedures, the use of locks and tags, proper removal of lockout/tagoout devices and potential hazards involved in the lockout/tagout process.

Moisture & Mould Awareness

This course is designed for anyone involved with, working around or has the potential to be exposed to mould damaged materials.

Noise & Hearing Conservation Awareness Training

Power Line Hazards (Newfoundland – WHSCC Certified)

Power Line Hazards Certification Training is a legal requirement for operators of boom trucks, mobile cranes and other similar equipment. The training covers basic knowledge about electricity, electrical hazards, and safety measures when working in proximity to transition lines above and underground. It also teaches participants what to do when equipment becomes charged with an electrical current and reviews all appropriate legislative requirements.

The training must be renewed every three (3) years and it must be provided by a trainer approved by the Workplace Health Safety and Compensation Commission (WHSCC).

Respiratory Protection (CSA Z94.4-11)

This awareness-training course is designed for personnel who use, or should use respirators on a regular basis.

Supervisor Safety Training

This course is designed to provide participants with descriptions of their duties and responsibilities as supervisors as it relates to Occupational Health and Safety. Some topics to be covered are due diligence, the Internal Responsibility System (IRS) and an introduction to the Nova Scotia Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Representative / Designate Training (1 Day Course) OR

Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Committee Training (2 Day Course) (Newfoundland – WHSCC Certified)
